Natasha & Gordon
Pre Wedding Session In Ascot Island, WA

Q: Tell us your full proposal story. When did it happen? How were you feeling? Did you expect it?

Natasha: I did not expect it on that particular day. We drove out to Mandurah to see the Christmas lights along the canals in December 2021, but we got there while the sun was still up so we walked some way to a beach hoping to catch a spectacular sunset.

We got to Blue Bay which was quite a walk so I decided to sit down on the sand next to a limestone cave. There was no one around and the sun kept going down slowly. Gordon lived in Mandurah as a teenager so he told me a story that he and his friends used to leave things in the limestone caves. He said he would crawl in there to see if anything was left all these years later. Suddenly, he emerged out of the cave with two glasses and a bottle of wine. I was surprised, but before I could say anything, he was at my side, proposing! The sun was setting and there were golden, orange and warm tones in the sky. He held a box with a ring in front of me and spoke from the heart, no speech prepared, it just flowed. Of course I said yes!

He put this beautiful 1950s antique French dress ring on my finger and I felt like I was floating on a cloud. We had a drink and enjoyed the sunset before heading over to see the Christmas lights and to have a delicious dinner. I found out that a few days before he had come out to Mandurah to set this secret plan into motion!

Q: What’s been your favourite part about being engaged?

N: Getting to know each other by learning and growing through new challenges, planning our futures and sharing love every day. It is magic!

Q: What are your current plans for your wedding day?

N: Doing away with tradition and having breakfast together on the day of our wedding before parting ways to get ready! We are getting married on our birthday (as we both share the same birth date) in the company of our closest friends and family at an intimate venue in the Swan Valley called Barrett Lane, with a live band and roaming cocktail menu. By 4pm we hope to have tied the knot and by 8pm we hope to have everyone dancing.

If you’ve made it down this far, thank you. I hope you love what you see here and if you want to leave a nice comment for the couple, feel free to do so below!
