Gosh. There comes a time where you meet a couple and you instantly get along with them. Will and Celine are one of those people. When I first met Will and Celine, we got along so well that Celine joked about her being the third wheel to this date between Will and I. It was honestly love at first sight if I could say so, and so I was really happy to have them say “I do” to having me document their wedding day!
A wedding day is always a special occasion, and for many couples, it’s a chance to showcase their cultural traditions and customs. Such was the case for Will and Celine, who decided to include a traditional Chinese Gate Crash in their morning festivities before proceeding with their wedding ceremony at Queen’s Park in Perth, followed by a reception at the DoubleTree by Hilton.
The day started early as the groomsmen arrived at Celine’s family home, where the bride and her bridesmaids were already getting ready. The Chinese Gate Crash is a traditional event where the groom and his groomsmen must go through a series of challenges set by the bridesmaids to prove their worthiness to marry the bride. These challenges can range from eating spicy food, singing songs, or performing dances. The groomsmen put their best foot forward and managed to complete the tasks set for them, which included identifying the bride’s lipstick mark, completing a series of poses and professing his love to Celine as loudly as possible.
After the successful completion of the Gate Crash, Will and Celine exchanged gifts during the tea ceremony and had a brief moment to take in the excitement and anticipation of the day ahead. They then proceeded to Queens Park, where they were surrounded by family and friends, all dressed in their finest attire to witness their union.
The wedding ceremony took place in the park’s stunning gardens, with a beautiful floral arch serving as a backdrop for the couple’s vows. The officiant led the couple through their vows and ring exchange, and they sealed their commitment to each other with a kiss. The newlyweds were overjoyed, and their guests cheered as they made their way back down the aisle.
The reception was held at the DoubleTree by Hilton, where the newlyweds were greeted with a warm welcome from their guests. The room was beautifully decorated with floral centerpieces, and the DJ played the couple’s favorite songs as they made their grand entrance. Dinner was a lavish affair, with a delicious spread, and the speeches given by the couple’s loved ones were heartfelt and emotional.
The night was filled with dancing, laughter, and love, and the newlyweds couldn’t have been happier. The traditional Chinese Gate Crash in the morning, the beautiful ceremony at Queens Park, and the lively reception at the Double Tree by Hilton made their wedding day truly unforgettable. It was a perfect blend of tradition, culture, and modern elegance, and it will be remembered fondly by all who were there to witness it.
To Will and Celine:
Thank you so so much for trusting in me, and for always putting a smile on my face. It is truly an honour to have crossed paths with you, and I know that this friendship is here to stay. I love your photos, and I love the day that allowed for these memories to happen. Thank you once again, and I can’t wait for our next burgers hang out!
A huge thanks to those who made Will and Celine’s day extra special!
